- There are no prerequisites for this course. Please be advised that the material is written at a seventh grade reading level and in order to do chest compressions to the required depth of 2 inches participants should weigh at least 85 lbs.

To teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Course is based on real-life rescue scenarios and combines discussions and video with hands-on kills training to promote effective learning and to keep students motivated. The American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer has been updated with the latest science on CPR and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC). This class includes responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for an adult and child victim of cardiac arrest and more.
